Jupiter Radio Map is an interactive program for the calculation of parameters that affect the probability of receiving radio emission from Jupiter. The App calculates the CML (Central Meridian Longitude) of Jupiters System III (1965) and the Io Phase based on the input time in UT. Io Phase is the Galilean moon Io’s orbital position measured from superior geocentric conjunction. The color coded map of the occurrence probability of Jupiter radio emissions is plotted as a function of CML of System III (1965) and Io Phase. For a particular Universal Time the CML and Io Phase are calculated and represented by a small dot of Jupiter displayed on the map. As time increases the dot follows a path indicated by the slanted white lines and the relative probability of receiving radio emission for that time is indicated by the color under the dot. This app is one of the contributions to the NASA RadioJOVE project (http://radiojove.gsfc.nasa.gov/). You will find educational materials on the web site to learn more about Jupiter radio emissions.
